Not to be confused with the American rock band of the same name, Nirvanhai's valor, panache, swagger, and avant-garde concepts of songwriting distinguishes him as artistic "Afrofusion innovation" at its finest.
Exotic, diva-like, and soulful; his vocals dances in a sublime fusion of Afro, & R&B sounds. Nirvanhai is a multilingual singer with a genesis like many who started off in a Church Choir where he developed singing in his mother's tongue. Furthering his abilities, he often writes and sings music in Twi, Japanese, Korean, and is currently tackling Portuguese. Nirvanhai has worked with Candi Russo (of Candi and the Backbeats, who was his secondary school vocal teacher), Toronto Retrowave Icon Dana Jean Phoenix and L.A's vocal coach giant Stevie Mackey. His melismas shows off falsettos reminiscent of R&B veterans like Maxwell, D'Angelo and Tevin Campbell and vocal belts that are heavily influenced by the divas like JoJo and Tori Kelly; his voice is steadily making a new impetus defining and delivering a fresh R&B, Soul, and Afro sound.
Nirvanhai has cited Tori Kelly, Jidenna, Taeyeon, Jazmine Sullivan, D'Angelo, Koji Kondo, Llyod, BoA, Shawn Desman, Charlie Puth, Mariah Carey, Utada Hikaru, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Durand Bernarr & the artist formally known as Prince as "mind-blowing artists that have directly influenced my style or music in one way or another, aside from myself of course." In his hometown Toronto, Nirvanhai developed his background in musical theatre being cast as "Eddie Souther" in the Lower Ossington Theatre's production of Sister Act: The Musical (2016-2017). Nirvanhai also was among the Urban Arts’ BEATS MIND MOVEMENT alumni in 2018.
In August 2020 and 2021 respectively, he released two cover songs, -a remix of WSTRN'S Sharna and Burna Boy's "On The Low."
From the young age of 10, Nirvanhai has had the privilege to impact the world through his multi-talents, wow the crowds of formal galas, schools, charity events, and in the more recent years, Canadian Music Week 2019 in Toronto, OutThere Festival 2021 in Victoria, and the AFAM Awards 2022 (African Fashion and Arts Movement Awards) in Vancouver.
Nirvanhai O'Raahikojo brings fresh vibes from the Canadian Islands of British Columbia, trailblazing an age of Afrofusion that undoubtedly solidifies him as one of the top Canadian Male artist & vocalist of the new decade
